Councillor Leanne Feeley

Leanne was born and grew up in North Manchester. After graduating from Leicester Polytechnic, she returned to Manchester to teach and perform in Contemporary Dance for 10 years, during which time she moved to Stalybridge.

After returning to university to complete her Masters, Leanne took a new direction. She worked as a community development worker and then moved into local government management.

In 2013 she left local government and became the General Manager of Company Chameleon international dance touring company, where she remains today. In 2016 Leanne was elected to Tameside Council and in 2018 became Executive Member for Lifelong Learning, Culture, Equalities and Heritage.

She has been on the board of Brighter Sound since 2013 and joined the GreaterSports board in 2019.

Leanne is passionate about arts and culture and the positive impact it can have on the life of residents of all ages and backgrounds. She firmly believes that arts and culture can and should be for everyone.
